Short version: nothing scary happens. We don't take a card up front, so there's no automatic charge when your trial ends. Your account quietly pauses, your child's streak and progress stay safe, and you choose a plan whenever you're ready.
During the 14 days
Your trial unlocks the full Sprout experience — up to three children, the weekly synthesis every weekend, and unlimited AI explanations. There's nothing to set up to start the trial, and nothing to cancel to end it. You'll get a friendly reminder on day 11 so the end never sneaks up on you.
When the trial ends
On day 15, if you haven't chosen a plan, your account moves to a paused state:
- Your child's streak is frozen, not lost — pick up exactly where you left off when you subscribe.
All progress, history and the weekly reports you've already received are kept.
The kid app shows a gentle "see you soon" screen instead of the daily set.
- You are not charged. There's no card on file to charge.
We'd rather you came back because Rootly earned its place — not because a charge caught you off guard.
Choosing a plan
When you're ready, pick the plan that fits your family. Everything stays consistent with what you saw on the pricing page:
- Acorn — £6.99/mo. One child, monthly summary, 20 AI explanations a week.
- Sprout — £14.99/mo. Up to 3 children, weekly synthesis, unlimited AI, 1 teacher invite.
- Grove — £24.99/mo. Up to 6 children, family roll-up report, unlimited teacher invites.
You can switch plans or pause over the holidays at any time. Changing your mind never costs you your child's streak.
